2012 Amerigo Vespucci Celebrations – Forthcoming

The year 2012 will be the anniversary of Amerigo Vespucci, the Italian explorer who gave his name to the Americas. In order to celebrate this important anniversary for Florence, the Association FAIR aims to promote its own original initiative that be coherent with the spirit of these celebrations, be functional to the territory, and be developed in the wake of the mission and values of the Association.
In order to enforce the international openness and role of Florence and to promote a high level of culture, knowledge and know-how, the Association will organize an event that will put into relation students from different cultural backgrounds to managers of international firms in order to promote mutual knowledge and culture.
The name of the project “Amerigo 2012 – Le Nuove Americhe” [Amerigo 2012 – The New Americas] has been chosen to highlight the three strategic objectives of the program:
1. celebrate and strength the already existing cultural relationships with the USA;
2. develop new relationships with other important countries and cultures such as Brasil, China, India and Russia;
3. network and pool local and international resources.
